A rare collectible from the Leonard Mine in Butte Montana, famous for producing large, high-quality covellite specimens.
Covellite is a rare copper sulfide mineral with the formula CuS. This indigo blue mineral is commonly a secondary mineral in limited abundance and although it is not an important ore of copper itself, it is well known to mineral collectors.
This fine quality specimen exhibits the rare indigo blue to iridescent purple flash. This specimen also features some natural Pyrite inclusions. A hefty large specimen of some very rare material, ready for your collection!
